Benefits of Shikhanji

Beyond its undeniable refreshment factor, Shikanji offers a surprising range of benefits for your well-being. The hero ingredient, lemons, are a powerhouse of Vitamin C, a vital nutrient that bolsters your immune system. This translates to better resistance against common summer ailments, keeping you feeling energized and healthy throughout the hot season. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, helping to shield your body from harmful free radicals and potentially reducing inflammation.

The supporting cast of spices in Shikanji adds another layer of goodness. Roasted cumin powder, a common ingredient, is known to aid digestion. Cumin's carminative properties help to ease bloating and discomfort, especially after a heavy meal. Black salt (kala namak), another staple spice, is believed to have cooling properties. This can be particularly beneficial in the summer, as it may help regulate your body temperature and prevent dehydration. Additionally, black salt is a good source of electrolytes, which are essential minerals lost through sweat. Replenishing these electrolytes can help you feel more energized and prevent fatigue, especially during hot weather.
